Planning a Romantic Asian Dinner

This year celebrate your relationship, with a romantic Asian dinner. Your romantic dinner should be simple yet elegant, allowing you and your partner quality time together.

Set the mood by creating a theme that is simple yet impressive. This can be as easy as dimming the overhead light, the creative stringing of Chinese lanterns, a candle set in a safe secure area, or perhaps small Christmas lighting can be used. A few colorful flowers, (avoid using white flowers, as white is used in Asian funerals.) or lucky bamboo arranged in crystal will help generate positive chi within the room.

The table should be set with your very best Asian tableware as this too will generate positive chi. Chopsticks are a must have item for the romantic Asian themed dinner. Chopsticks will slow the pace of the dinner, and allow conversation. They are also a sexy way to feed that succulent shrimp, beef, chicken or vegetable to your partner.

Serve Tea, be creative and design your own Tea Ritual! A high quality, first flush loose leaf tea would be the very best choice. Tea bags do not offer the flavor or aromatics of the finest delicate teas, but they are convenient. Brew and serve your tea with an Asian styled porcelain tea set. Soft ambient background instrumental music will add to the gentle mood which you create, stimulating conversation and appetite.

Asian appetizers are a great way to begin the evening. You can prepare these yourself, however the frozen varieties found at the local market would save you valuable time. Chicken, beef, shrimp and vegetables the choice is yours. An Asian stir fry recipe may be the fastest, but you may consider using a slow cooker recipe or even the microwave to prepare the courses that you serve. A light soup can be served between courses to cleanse the palate. Fruit can be an enjoyed during or at the end of the meal. Oranges, apples, peaches, pear and pineapple are all suitable choices.

Many of our most memorable celebrations are enjoyed with food. The colors, texture and flavors of Asian cuisine would be a fine beginning to a romantic evening.
